Torvaldsland Long Hall

To the north of the skerry of Einar, far beyond the Torvaldsmark and deep in the heart of Torvaldsland, sits the Long Hall of Jarl Knight. Built from turf and stone and lit by torches, the hall is low, long and narrow. Timber posts support the roof, benches and tables line the hall around a long open central space, sleeping furs line the walls. Here ale and mead are supped from drinking horns though the wines and paga of the south may sometimes be found, captured in raids or traded for timber or slaves. Though shaped by Gorean culture, the people of the north live by their own rules. We recognise no caste system nor even the Priest Kings. The men of the north honour Odin and Thor. We are fighting men grown strong and proud at the oar and in the fields. Here every man is poet, warrior and lover born of the axe. Our Free Women are respected; our bondmaids are slave, but they do not kneel silent and passive like trinkets and baubles. They are wild and free, they work and they play…until summoned by their Jarl to his lap or his furs. All are welcome in Long Hall until they are not. We drink, fight, talk, argue, laugh and love while we await the call of the War Arrow. This is a Gorean Room and the protocols of Gor abide. Slaves are welcome but should linger in the doorway and ask permission of the Free before entering and seek the same before leaving. Free may come and go as they please. UPDATE: New visitors to the Hall are now required to make at least one post within 24 hours of joining. Return visitors, who have not previously posted, are also required to make a post.
